"Carte blanche? Oh Yes!"

"I don't hear these words often, but when I do, I am quite happy. They wanted something different, wanted more time on their big day and they gave me all the freedom to just go for it. I had seen a beautiful album from a colleague a while ago, and the choice of location was quickly made.

"No fear of heights?"

That was my next question.

"No, not at all!"

Perfect. We set out a few days after their wedding at an almost unreasonably early hour to catch a few beautiful rays of morning sunshine. Sadly, the sun was a bit shy that day, but hey, who needs it when you've got a backdrop like this, right?
These spots are like a photographer's playground. The abandoned quarry provided an extra special dynamic to the images. The rough textures of the stones, the contrast on the marble walls, and the vast, green nature added a unique element to the photos. It was an opportunity to capture the beauty that sometimes remains hidden in more traditional settings.

Those textures are like nature just showing off, no?

After spending some time capturing shots on the basic level, I felt the itch for those 'next level' pictures. So, we hiked through the bushes, to reach the elevated section of the quarry. Now, I won't claim to be a legendary heights conqueror, but there's always a moment of 'heart in my throat' when I embark on these missions. Yet, once I start shooting, it's like I unleash my inner happy kid. Just ask my couples – once I find those sweet spots, I'm running around with a massive grin behind my camera.

I’ll try to stop talking for now and let the pictures speak but as you can see it really doesn't have to be the Alps or a colossal French castle to spice up your pics. A dash of planning, a sprinkle of persistence, and the guts to drive a bit further with a talkative photographer – that's the secret sauce.

Simple, right?

Oh, and throw in a spare pair of shoes; we're definitely not sticking to the beaten path.
