6 Minutes.

I also took my drone for a little flight.

I’m bad at early mornings. Really bad. I’ve always had the habit of working late instead of getting up early. My parents often laugh about the fact that weddings in the weekends are the biggest exceptions to my routine… Long story short it’s a thing I can do better.

Luckily for me it only began to snow this day around noon and it kept on going so I decided to go out with my gear to shoot the city. After I made some stills of old churches and cute ponds I realised: This weather would be perfect to do a couple shoot in?

Despite not getting many responses to my social media call on a busy workday, I wasn't deterred. I decided to try my luck and started to look around for people to take some quick snaps. Not long after, at a more unknown gem in Mechelen I decided to stop hesitating and approached a younger couple taking some selfies.

6 Minutes. That was the the time between the first and last photo in the series with Yente and Sam, after I unexpectedly approached them, for me and for them.

"Hey, I'm looking for a couple to take some fun spontaneous photos with. Interested?"

After some hesitance they responded positively, and a beautiful spontaneous snowy mini session is the result. For me it is never about too much posing and static pictures. It's about capturing movement and creating a comfortable atmosphere.

It’s not about us photographers, it’s about giving the best experience possible to the people who book us.
